Keith & Kathy Trimble started Wood Creations in 2014 to supply wooden promotional products to the bar and restaurant industry. Wood Creations supplies custom A-Frame signs, wooden condiment caddies, wall chalkboard signs and barrel signs to craft beer companies and beverage marketing. Wood Creations also creates custom cedar signs for businesses, homes and cottages. Keith has more than 40 years experience as a cabinet maker and uses his skills to do the woodworking while Kathy does the design and painting. Together they enjoy making unique, personalized pieces for their customers.

The Story of Wood Creations
For more than 40 years, Keith Trimble honed his skills as a wood worker and cabinet maker. After the company he worked for moved to China, Keith found himself in his 50’s and looking at starting over. He worked for a few production wood places but couldn’t find a good fit so in 2014, he started his own business. Wood Creations began primarily to produce wood marketing products used in beverage marketing, craft breweries, bars and restaurants. Many of the wooden A-Frame sidewalk signs you see advertising today’s specials outside of your favourite restaurants are produced by Wood Creations. Wall Chalkboards with today’s menu selections, condiment caddies, serving paddles and barrel head signs are some of the other products created by Wood Creations.
As Wood Creations continues to grow, we are now producing custom signs for cottages, family names, child’s rooms, recreation and bar areas, backyards, man caves, roadways and businesses. Each sign is custom made from Western Redwood Cedar. The design is sandblasted into the wood creating unique ridges. Each piece is finished with high quality paints or stains. Keith’s wife Kathy works with customers to create the design and paint the finished product. As they continue grow Wood Creations, they welcome new customers as part of the family.
About Our Cedar Signs
Wood Creations uses Western Red Cedar primarily from British Columbia to handcraft our signs in Amaranth, Ontario. Western Red Cedar is easy to work with and known for it’s natural strength, durability and beautiful rich, vibrant colour. Whether the design calls for a modern, painted look or a rustic stained finish, it is beautiful for both indoor or outdoor use. Red Cedar is naturally insect and rot resistant which means it will last for many years.
About Our Cedar Signs
Red Cedar is the most abundant of all cedars in managed forests, making it perfect for frequent usage. It’s environmentally friendly and completely biodegradable, renewable and is one of the strongest and most durable types of wood available. It is also a very light-weight wood with a straight-grained, uniform but rather coarse texture. The sandblasting process reveals the ridges as the design is created. The ridges are also the reason every piece is different. Red Cedar is easily cut to any size and shape and it can be stained or painted. When stained, it creates and old-fashioned appearance that easily appeals to customers who love a classic traditional look. When hand-painted with our high-quality sign paint, the result is sharp, vibrant colours that last for many years.
Our Creation Process
Contact us to determine your needs and we will work with you to create a design. To help create the design, it helps us to know the size you are thinking – we have our standard sizes or you can have a custom size. Let us know where it’s going to hang and what it’s for, i.e. a cottage sign to hang outside your cottage or trailer, family name sign for a gift or recreation room. Is there anything you’d like to include on it, i.e. text, graphics? A good place to start may be to look at some signs on our website. You can send us your design or if you have no idea, we will do a design for you and work with you until we get it right. Designs can be one-sided or two-sided.

Step 1
We begin with Grade A, kiln dried cedar planks that are cut and shaped to your custom design.

Your design is computer generated to perfection and sandblasted into the cedar.

The sign is painted or stained according to the design plan. Our sharp, fade-resistant painting is perfect for both indoor and outdoor use and will last for many years.
